FAQs - About Part exchange solution
- How and when will I receive my money?
- The fastest, easiest and most secure way to pay you is through an electronic transfer to your bank account. There is no charge for this service and in 99% of cases the transfer is made whilst the collection driver is at your collection address. You will receive an email from HSBC bank confirming that payment has been sent to your bank. If you would prefer to receive a cheque, you have the opportunity to request this whilst inputting your car details. Please note that if you do choose to receive a cheque, you must ensure that you have a debit or credit card available on collection just in case you have missed some damage when entering your car details.
- Why can't I have cash for my car?
- It is simply not practical to carry large quantities of cash. From a security aspect we would not expect the collection drivers to drive around with thousands of pounds.
- I cannot find my car on the website?
- Almost all makes and models are covered, however, there are some restrictions on age and mileage, and also certain models. If your car is not on the website, it cannot be processed. Please do not choose the nearest thing to your car in an attempt to obtain a price.
- What happens if I miss a scratch or dent?
- The valuation is based on the accurate description that you will provide. When you go to value your car, a vehicle appraisal form is attached for you to print off. We do encourage you to print this off and actually walk around your car in daylight to appraise your car panel by panel. ;If your online appraisal does not match the collection driver's appraisal, the purchase price will be reduced accordingly. This will either be deducted from the balance that is transferred into your bank account or if you have opted for a cheque on collection, you will be asked to pay via a credit or debit card.
- I have outstanding finance against my car?
- If you wish, the outstanding finance can be settled as part of the transaction. Depending on the finance company and due to data protection, you may have to obtain your settlement in writing on our behalf. If you wish to settle your existing finance, Written confirmation of payment from your finance company will be required prior to collection. If you owe more on your finance than the sale price of the car, you will need to pay us the balance prior to us collecting your car.
- I do not have a V5 registration document?
- For us to buy your car, we do need your original V5 document. If you do not have one you can obtain a new document by filling in form V62 which you can download from DVLA or pick up from any Post Office. The completed form and appropriate fee should be sent to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AR. A new document will then be issued to you in about 3 - 4 weeks. Until you have this we cannot proceed with the transaction. You will be required to revalue your car at this time
- How do you calculate the price for my car?
- Your price is calculated automatically when you submit your car details. We do not take the input details and then attempt to pre-sell your car before making you an offer, nor do we take advantage of you if you want to sell your car quickly. In fact, quite the opposite. We actually want your car. For this reason we have developed a website that will generate our best price for every car, every time. Prices are remarkably accurate and are guaranteed providing that you have been honest when inputting the details and you make your car available when we tell you that we are coming to collect it.
- Why will you not buy an imported car?
- There are often differences in specification between imported and UK cars and even if these are slight, they do detract from the value. These factors mean that putting an accurate value on an imported car requires the intervention and interpretation of an expert on a car-by-car basis, that does not form part of our streamlined, quick and easy process.
